Microsoft released Skype 8.90 Preview to Insiders a month and a half ago. It included a number of new features, including auto-language detection for call subtitles and translation, the ability to browse and scan QR codes for quick contact connections, and more. In addition to other new features and bug improvements, Skype for Android now supports customised icons. On iOS, a new Calendar extension was added so that Skype meetings could be attached to calendar events. Microsoft is currently bringing out Skype 8.90 on all systems that it supports.

- If you have Show Previews enabled on your iPhone or iPad and you receive an image through Skype, you can tap and hold the message notice to see a preview of the image from your lock screen.
