Valve: The market share of Windows 11 is expanding quickly.

Here is the most recent Valve study highlighting Steam users’ preferences for hardware and software. According to the November 2022 Steam Hardware & Software Survey, the market share of Windows 11 has significantly increased, while Windows 10 usage has decreased.

Windows 11 on Steam is reportedly seeing one of the biggest user increases since its release, according to Valve. According to the November 2022 report, Windows 11 increased by 4.61 percentage points from the prior month to reach 27.98%. Windows 10 is now at 65.60% after losing 3.31 points. The introduction of the Windows 11 2022 Update and its gaming-related features is one explanation for such a rise (even though Microsoft has blocked access to the update for some due to confirmed performance degradations).

With 1.88% (-1.71%) of the vote, 64-bit Windows 7 is still the third most popular Windows version on Steam, and 64-bit Windows 8.1 is in fourth place with 0.41% (+0.01). Windows 7 for 32-bit rounds out the top five with a meagre 0.11% market share.

  1. 64.6% for Windows 10 (-3.31)

On Steam, Windows is now at 96.11% (-0.39) overall. Linux comes in last with 1.44% (+0.16), followed by Apple’s macOS at 2.45% (+0.22)

The hardware preference is next. The Nvidia GTX 1650 is now the most popular graphics card on Steam, which is one noticeable shift.
