Microsoft frequently adds new features to Excel across a variety of platforms, and the firm kindly posts a list of all the new features it added at the end of each month. It has reviewed latest updates to Excel that were made in November 2022.
Although the changelog is not particularly long, there are still some features that may interest some customers. Chart Data Foils is the only new feature in Excel for the web. Simply said, it offers a visual representation of the cell range that served as the basis for the chart. Simply click on a cell range and drag across it to change this range.
The changelog for Excel for Windows and Mac is same this time around. Show Changes is the first of two upcoming new features. As its name implies, it enables you to view the changes made to a workbook and go back in time. The other capability is Office Scripts, which is now generally accessible to everyone and can automate tedious operations.
The contextual command bar and ribbon palette have a more contemporary appearance in a general upgrade for the Office app on Excel thanks to Fluent Design principles. The contextual command bar’s menus are now quicker and resizable as well. Office Insiders are currently the only ones who can access these improvements.
As always, don’t forget to submit feedback to Microsoft on the dedicated page here if you don’t like how a certain feature has been implemented or would want something new.
