Full ray tracing in Portal using RTX alters each level, allowing light to bounce and be impacted by the geometry and materials of the scene. Every light is ray-traced and creates shadows; volumetric ray-traced lighting diffuses through fog and smoke; global illumination indirect lighting naturally brightens and darkens spaces; and shadows are pixel-perfect.

The business has also disclosed the Minimum, Recommended, and Ultra requirements for achieving playable frame rates.

The official date for the release of Portal with RTX DLC has now been disclosed by Nvidia to be December 8.The Steam store page can be found here.
