Through the Xiaomi 12T Pro, Xiaomi has announced its partnership with New York-based artist Daniel Arsham. The most recent global design is based on the “Future Archeological” aesthetic of Arsham. In addition to its current functionality, it makes a sculptural proposal for the future.
Regarding his partnership with Xiaomi, Arsham said:
I’m always looking for opportunities to exhibit my work in contexts outside than the conventional art world setting. I regarded the Xiaomi 12T Pro as a sculpture that served a purpose beyond its role as a functional object; in 20 years, those who own this phone will no longer use it as a phone but rather as a sculpture, connected to a specific time and carrying meaning beyond its purpose.
The gadget has a 200-megapixel primary camera and bronze crystals incorporated with an eroded green patina. It has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
Additionally, it comes with a 120W dark green charger that can fully recharge the device’s 5,000mAh battery in under 19 minutes. On December 16, Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition will go on sale for €899 (about $930). Only 2,000 of these pieces of hardware will be sold in Europe.
Through December 16 to December 17, you may purchase the 12T Pro from Xiaomi’s online store and the pop-up Xiaomi x Daniel Arsham Berlin store. Highsnobiety, the company’s official online retail partner, also sells the limited edition smartphone.
