Microsoft is back with another monthly update for its Android smartphones after releasing Android 12L for the Surface Duo and Duo 2 last month. With the exception of the original Surface Duo for AT&T, which is now prepared to upgrade from Android 11 to 12L, changelogs are less exciting this time around.
What has been added to the Surface Duo and Duo 2 update as of November 2022?
Not a lot. The most recent update “addresses scenarios detailed in the Android Security Bulletin for November 2022,” according to Microsoft. Unfortunately, there are no updates, additions, or fixes for particular devices.
However, if you still have the original Surface Duo for AT&T, you can now update to Android 12L, which comes with a tonne of updates, a new user interface (UI) that is inspired by Windows 11, new features, and performance enhancements.
Go to Settings > System Update to download the most recent Surface Duo firmware. Always check lists of known issues because firmware updates for Surface devices (including Windows-based models) cannot be uninstalled. After installing the November 2022 update for the Surface Duo and Duo 2, everyone should be fine, according to Microsoft.
In case you missed it, the Surface Duo 2 recently took a step toward having Windows 11 run nearly as smoothly as its older sibling. More capabilities are now possible thanks to a new set of drivers, but the project is still far from being ready for everyday use.
