On the Epic Games Store, Alba and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun are both gratis.

The Epic Games Store is still giving away two games for free, as evidenced by the addition of Alba: A Wildlife Adventure and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun in the most recent update to the weekly promotion. This week’s Rising Storm 2: Vietnam and Filament giveaways have been replaced by the new pair.

Alba, a casual adventure game that will be available in 2020, challenges you to protect a fictional island’s threatened wildlife. You will be involved in animal rescue, island cleanup, local wildlife cataloguing, and a campaign to halt a large construction project that will destroy a nearby nature reserve.

The Monument Valley video game series’ creator, Ustwo Games, describes the experience as follows:

“Follow Alba as she travels to a Mediterranean island to see her grandparents. She is prepared for a tranquil summer of wildlife exploration with her friend Ines, but she realises she must act when she comes across an animal in peril.”

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, a real-time tactics game reminiscent of the original Commandos games, will be discussed next. The game, which is set in Japan during the Edo era, puts you in charge of five characters, each of whom has a special ability, as they battle enemies and accomplish goals on difficult maps.
The following is how game maker Mimimi Games describes its title:

“Control a group of lethal specialists as you dodge dozens of foes in the dark. When breaking into powerful castles, snowy monasteries, or secret camps, choose your strategy. Create traps, poison your adversaries, or completely avoid conflict.”

On November 17, a new freebie promotion will replace The Alba – A Wildlife Adventure and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, which are currently available on the Epic Games Store.
