The Dev Channel now offers Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25169, which introduces a number of new features and fixes for Insiders to test out.
The new Windows Spotlight theme that Microsoft has included is one of the build’s main benefits. Go to Settings > Personalization and Settings > Personalization > Themes to find it. The Windows Spotlight feature on the desktop will immediately be activated by clicking the new icon from the list of themes.
The addition of “Multi-App Kiosk Mode” in this build already improves the Kiosk Mode. Here, by choosing the set of apps allowed for a certain device and disabling the other features, IT managers will be given more control over the lockdown feature for Windows 11. The lockdown may be be further modified by limiting access to Settings, securing the Start menu so that only authorized programs are displayed, and disabling alerts.
Last but not least, this build will now enable settings to support managing apps, including uninstalling apps with inter-dependencies, repairing, and altering Win32 apps (previously only supported through the Control Panel).
Other enhancements include moving the Windows Security app version to the About section of the Windows Security settings and updating the U.S. English (EN-US) handwriting model for faster and more accurate handwriting.
